Robotics Waterford Institute of Technology

This year, students from the WIT Applied Robotics Lab, will be sharing their work in the emerging area of social robotics. They will also showcase the new robo wars bots. Old favorites like the rubix cube solver, BENGiE and the tele-pressence robots will also make a return. p.s we are also bringing a bit of the internet.

Energy Lab – designing a low carbon future

with Cool Planet

Designing a low carbon future is designed to inspire individuals towards a brighter future and engineer sustainable solutions for a cleaner, greener economy. A hands on investigation into renewable technologies such as wind, solar and fuel cell energy transfer. Participants have the opportunity to design, engineer and power a car of the future using a clean energy source. In addition to an increased understanding and awareness of climate change and alternative energy participants also learn to strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Calmast Waterford Institute of Technology

Calmast is Waterford Institute of Technology’s STEM engagement centre acting as a hub for the South East region. Calmast promotes all areas of STEM to all with the help of WIT staff and students and in partnership with schools, libraries, local authorities and industry aiming to make the South East region a national and international leader in STEM awareness. Join us in the Wexford County Council to discover how much fun science, maths and engineering can be.

Come and play the EPA’s Bin it Better game. Do you think you use you bins correctly? This simple game will test your knowledge and help you sort your waste into the correct bins. When you are finished you can rest assured you will know how to ‘bin it better’.

In A Galaxy Far, Far Away – Interactive Storytime

Join Reader in Residence and Children’s author Caroline Busher for a science-based interactive storytime for families and young children. This extra-special storytime will be out of this world!

Children will travel deep beneath the sea and journey to the stars with some of the best children’s picture books Wexford Libraries has to offer.
