The chemistry department from TCD will visit Johnstown Castle and work with primary school students to creativity explore the science of early battery technology. The chemistry at the castle programme will take students and teachers back 150 years to develop an understanding around core concepts such as electrical energy, electrochemistry and magnetism. A showcase of previously forgotten scientific heritage and history to inspire future science leaders and innovators. A cross curricular learning opportunity connecting heritage, past discoveries and future technological innovation. Chemistry at the castle will focus on inspiring curious problem solvers who are capable of dealing with the complexities of the real world and tackle global issues such as climate change.
