Since 2019 all domestic buildings must meet the nearly zero energy standard. WWETB has developed a number of training courses which are designed to provide learners with knowledge of the principles and practices that help in achieving the NZEB standard. The WWETB National NZEB Training Centre is the first facility in Europe to offer a suite of trade-specific NZEB courses and you can download the full course information booklet here.
What is NZEB Training?
The UN visit to NZEB High Performance Building Training Centre and FabLab Enniscorthy which highlights some of the work that has been achieved by WWETB NZEB training programme.
How long is each course?
· 5 Trades – 3 days each
· Site Supervisor – 4 days
· Fundamental Awareness – 1 day
· Ventilation, inc. assessment – 3 days
· Retrofit – 1 Day (*Waterford)
What Certification will I get at the end of the course?
All courses are City & Guilds/WWETB Quality Assured and there will be a Certificate and a Digital Badge issued to participants on successful completion of the programme.
How much does it cost?
The course cost is €100 per day, i.e. a 1 day course is €100 and a 3 day course is €300. You may be eligible for funding under the Skills to Advance Initiative (STA).
